Residential homes are staffed 24 hours a day. Each residential home is overseen by a Program Manager that can assist individuals within an environment that provides a sense of independence, dignity, privacy and personal choice.
Our services are designed to address the desires, goals, strengths, abilities, needs, health, safety and life span issues of the persons supported. Our goal is to assist individuals to help them achieve success in and satisfaction with community living.
Independent Living Is Possible
Our goal is to find ideal living arrangements for our participants. While some may thrive in our residential communities, others may find more suitable placements within a family setting. WLACL works within the greater community to find the right fit for every individual.
How it Works
The Home Share service assists individuals in finding a living situation that will promote independence and inclusivity in a family setting. This allows individuals to naturally establish connections and relationships within their community.
The ‘right match’ is identified through a Person-Centered Planning process. WLACL takes time to get to know the Home Share provider and their family through a Home Study process. Once an individual is matched with a Home Share Provider, WLACL monitors the Home Share arrangement and offers ongoing support.
What is a Home Share Provider?
A Home Share Provider is a individual or family who have chosen to open their home in order to provide support to an individual with an intellectual disability. All Home Share providers recognize that the individual is valued and are committed to creating an inclusive community for everyone. Depending on the wants, needs and wishes of the individual, Home Share providers can assist with areas of daily living, life skills, community access and relationship building.
WLACL is committed to finding the best match possible and therefore only Home Share providers who are best suited to support an individual’s needs and lifestyle choices will be chosen.
